The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship powered by Sporting Goods involves a three-step qualifying process in the Open and Senior (45+) Divisions.
The road to the World Championship in the Super Seniors (50+), Grand Champions (55+), Legends (60+), Masters (65+) and Ladies Divisions is a simple one-step process. A one time entry fee of $800 gives competitors in these five divisions a one-way ticket to the World Finals in Mesquite, Nevada.

STEP 1: Local Qualifying
(NO PREREGISTRATION AT LOCAL LEVEL)
The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship powered by Sporting Goods is open to all comers - pros and amateurs alike. You can find all rules and regulations as well as sites and dates for local qualification events nearest you on the home page.
The Open and Senior Division road to the RE/MAX World Finals begins with a local qualification event where you show up ready to “give it your best shot”. Time permitting you may enter multiple times. Based on total entries, as many as six hitters will advance to the Regional Championship, which take place in late summer. To increase your chances to qualify for the RE/MAX World Finals, enter as many local qualifiers as you like and compete in more than one region. Local entry fees are $40.00 for six balls.
You do not have to be a LDA member to compete. However, there are substantial savings at local and regional qualifying events. Additionally, LDA members enjoy substantial equipment discounts, access to special events and cool gear!
STEP 2: Regional Championship
(OPEN AND SENIOR DIVISIONS ONLY)
You are now one step away from qualifying for the World Finals and a chance at claiming the title “Golf’s Biggest Hitter”. Winners from the local competition advance to a Regional Championship and are notified by the LDA of the date, time and location of the regional event. Competitors must be pre-registered for the event at least ten days prior to the competition. The number of competitors that qualify for the RE/MAX World Finals will vary in each regional and is based on the actual number of on-site competitors. Entry fees are $75.00 for LDA members and $150.00 for non-members. All competitors are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.
STEP 3: The RE/MAX World Finals
Congratulations on advancing to the “most exciting spectacle in golf”.Top finishers at the Regional Championships advance to Mesquite, Nevada in October and battle for a $450,000 purse and bragging rights as a RE/MAX World Champion in their respective divisions. There is no entry fee at the world level in the Open and Senior Divisions. All competitors must be pre-registered prior to the competition.

OFFICIAL RULES:
DIVISIONS
Open – No age restrictions (Anyone under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian)
Senior (45 +) – Date of birth must be on or before the first day of competition at the World Finals
Super Seniors (50 +) – Date of birth must be on or before the first day of competition at the World Finals
Grand Champions (55 +) – Date of birth must be on or before the first day of competition at the World Finals
Legends (60 +) – Date of birth must be on or before the first day of competition at the World Finals
Masters (65 +) – Date of birth must be on or before the first day of competition at the World Finals
Ladies – Open to women of all ages who were female at birth (Ladies under 18 must have consent from a legal guardian)
Local Qualifying Rules (For Open and Senior Divisions ONLY)
Professional and amateur golfers are eligible to compete.
All competitors must fill out an official entry form and pay their entry fee prior to competing. As competitors register, their name will be added to the Official Scoresheet and this will determine the hitting order for the day.
If a competitor wishes to hit again, they may register for additional tries as time permits and pay the appropriate entry fee.
Based on the number of tries at the local event, up to six winners may advance to the Regional Championship.
In the OPEN Division, the first place winners of the Local qualifying events will be granted a bye into Round 2 at the Regional Qualifying Event. (DOES NOT APPLY TO SENIOR DIVISION)
Competition grid will be approximately 40 yards wide and will begin at 250.
Entry Fees: $40 (for six balls)
Regional Qualifying Rules
Regional winners advance to the RE/MAX World Finals. The number of qualifiers that advance is based on the number of competitors that compete in the Regional event.
Competitors are eligible to qualify in different Regions to increase the chances of reaching the Finals.
Competitors must have registered and checked in onsite prior to the start time of the competition. Details will be provided in the Regional Championship player packet sent via email.
A modified double elimination format is used in all divisions. (Format for all divisions is subject to change based on the number of competitors or weather conditions.)
The site director has the right to alter the format due to weather or time constraints.
Site director can also change the minimum yardage required.
Entry Fees: $150 for non-members / $75 for LDA members
Dress Code for Local and Regional Events
All competitors must adhere to the host facility dress code. They must wear collared golf shirt (no tank tops), golf shorts or slacks (jeans or denim is not permitted). It is the responsibility of each competitor to know the dress code of the site.
General Rules for All LDA Sanctioned Events (Includes Local, Regional, World Finals, and LDA Tour/member events)
Only those clubs on the LDA Approved Conforming Club list are eligible for competition. All clubheads must conform to USGA standards. Clubs must not appear on the USGA non-conforming list.
All golf clubs must measure 50" (vertically at 90 degree angle) or less.
Competitors have 2:45 to complete their set of six balls.
All competitors will hit the provided official golf ball of the LDA, the Slazenger RAW.
Tees must NOT be longer than 4 inches in length and must be approved by the USGA.
USGA rules apply for the teeing ground, tee and intent to strike.
A qualified drive must be a minimum of 275 yards for the Open Division and 250 yards for the Senior Division and is measured from the tee line to the farthest point of the golf ball.
Proper golf etiquette is required during all levels of the competition. At no time will disorderly conduct, abusive language, intoxication, possession of firearms, and/or possession or use of an illegal substance be tolerated. Violations of this rule shall be cause for immediate expulsion from the event and forfeiture of all monies paid.
