Q. How do I get involved?
A. The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship qualifying in North America is a three step process - Local - Regional - World Finals
STEP 1 - Local Qualifier: Competitor shows up on the day of the event (solidified Local schedule released in March at www.longdrivers.com), entry fee is $40 in all divisions for 6 balls (that is considered 1 try). Competitor may attempt as many tries as time permits. The number of competitors who advance to the Regional Championship reflects how many paid entries there were received at the particular local.
STEP 2 - Regional Championship: This is a double elimination format tournament. Competitors receive 6 balls per round. Entry Fee is $75 for current LDA members or $150 for non-members. The number of competitors reflects a ratio formula included all Regional Championships.
STEP 3 - RE/MAX World Finals: The RE/MAX World Finals are limited to 128 Open, 48 Seniors and 48 Super Seniors. Those who advanced to the RE/MAX World Finals via local and regional qualifiers do NOT have to pay an entry fee to the RE/MAX World Finals.
Multiple international qualifying sites are also in full swing. Contact your National LDA franchise by visiting our Partners Page. if you have interests in hosting an international qualifier, email Mike Ambriz at ambriz@longdrivers.com

The RE/MAX of Texas Shootout presented by Toyota of Louisville is an example of a "members only" event.

A. Approximately a month to 6 weeks before the regional event you will receive a letter from the LDA letting you know that you have advanced (if you are in doubt, you can contact the LDA office at 888-233-4654) and giving you the specifics of the event. If you THINK you have advanced and do not get a letter, PLEASE contact the LDA.
Q. What's the average drive for? OR How far do I need to hit it to be competitive in the RWLDC events?
A. There is no average. There are too many variables, such as weather and grid conditions. The only thing that matters is what is happens the day of competition. Locals have been won with 300 yards and with 470+ yard drives. Conditions are the largest factor in Long Drive.
